Japanese Art Papers are made in the traditional paper districts of Japan. All sheets feature one smooth side and one slightly rough side. Create on the smooth side for the best results.

The pulp-based Gasen and Torinoko papers are sturdy and resilient with each sheet lightly sized to capture the fine details in artwork. Gasen and Torinoko sheets are perfect for ink painting, watercolor, Suminagashi (Japanese marbling), calligraphy and block printing. The surface of Torinoko holds up to watercolor washes with minimal wrinkling.
Asagami is a bleached, neutral sized paper ideal for woodblock printing, monoprinting, inkjet and laser printing, stamping, mixed media, legal documents, copy paper, watercolor and gansai paintings.
Kozo paper is made with 100% unsized Kozo fiber, which makes it solid and durable. Kozo paper is ideal for Sumi-e, watercolor painting, conservation and repair, woodblock and other printmaking techniques.
Mashi paper is an unbleached, unsized paper ideal for calligraphy, ink painting and watercolors.
